The Broadband ISP choice
Technology August 15th. 2008, 1:13pmOf course choosing a Broadband service is not always an easy choice. Before any consideration research needs to be done that is specific to the future subscriber’s area. In some cases DSL is more prevalent, in others cable wins out. Overall, in terms of cost, security, reliability, and service, cable is the way to go. The United States boasts roughly 16 million cable and DSL subscribers, and that figure is progressively rising. It would be naive to think that either provider is going to pick up and leave, or take a strong market advantage over the other; therefore both services are a safe bet. So the advice here is to look at each service available to you at the plan level so that you only pay for the speed you are actually going to use. Don’t sign up for a plan that is cheap during the promotional period, but will double or triple after that promo period is over.
