Of course Cuban which perfected the art of fine cigars as we know them, is legendary for it’s tobacco. THe fine main tobacco-growing areas in Cuban are Vuelta Abajo, Semi Vuelta. Partido, Remidios, and Oriente, which includes the Vuelta Arriba. Tobacco grown in Pinar del Rio, the westermost region of Cuba, is generally considered the best in the world. The lush green area with it’s climate, rainfall, and reddish sandy loam are ideal for tobacco growth. It’s amazing how a small plant has become one of the most valued possesions in the world.
