Angels and Helpers
Reference February 17th. 2009, 9:30amMovies, books, songs are all used in society to explain the spiritual reality of Angels. If they really exist what is their purpose in this world. The New Testament tells us that they are sent to the heirs of salvation to assist them. But why would God send angels to assist us and to assist us for what purpose? The very text explains that they are sent to those that would inherit salvation. It must be that the angels are sent to assist us in our salvation. If salvation were merely a “one time” event then once a person was converted or saved then that would be the end of the need for the angels’ service. But the fact of the matter is that salvation is not only an event when one enters into a belief in the Messiah, but it is also a process. It is much like a man lost at sea that is discovered by a passing ship and is thrown a life preserver. He is saved as he grasps hold of the life preserver, but unless he holds on until he is pulled in he is not fully rescued. Conversion is the grasping of the life preserver, but the being pulled in is the process of salvation. The angels assist in the initial life preserver event, but they also aid in the process of salvation. The angels are lovers of mankind and are vitally interested in our total salvation
