I think its funny when people in the industry of blinds, shutters, and shades don’t really know the difference between a shade and a blind. So lets talk a little about that. First of all a blind will have slats. Most of these are commonly either 2 1/2 inches or 3 inches depending on the style you want. Mini Blinds will most of the time have very small slats which are half inch in height.

Shades on the other hand are usually one piece of material or fabric, and roll down or come up like an accordion. they also usually block out more sunlight, and can be just as expensive if not more than blinds because of the high quality of fabric used. One particular type are caled blackout blinds but can also be called blackout shades. Both are correct but the shades would be more popular since they truly are shades and not blinds.
