When we hear about anabolic steroids, we typically think of body builders or those guys in muscle magazines.  The last people we think about are celebrities or kids.  But the fact of the matter is that more people (besides athletes) are taking anabolic steroids because they are convinced that these drugs will make them look or function better somehow.  A lot of professional athletes take steroids because they think that it will give them that "edge" when it comes to being one step above the rest of the competition.  Other people, like celebrities, take them because they think it will make them look better, thus they will seem more appealing to people watching them on television.  Many teenagers are even taking them because their hormones are changing and they, too, want to look good and seem appealing to their peers, especially people of the opposite sex.  However, there are many hidden dangers in steroids, which can have devastating effects on the lives of those who take them, as well as the lives of the people who they affect.
