An LPN, or Licensed Practical Nurse, does many different things. LPN Jobs can include administering medications, starting IV’s, pushing medications through those IV’s as well as taking a patient’s vital signs. This information is all recorded and given to the physician so that he or she can make a proper diagnosis. Nurses are a vital part of patient care in any setting. Doctors are not able to be with the patient as much as the nursing staff, so they rely on that staff to inform them about changes in patient status and behaviour. This can sometimes mean the difference between life and death.
