In the extrusion industry, companies have continuously struggled with employee retention. Turnover has been an issue for a variety of reasons. Some of the reasons for the high turnover are relatively low pay, less than ideal working conditions, and occasionally a lack of qualified personnel in a geographic area that the extrusion plant is located in. One of the ways that extrusion companies have begun combating employee turnover is through the use of extrusion training. But giving employees quality training, extrusion companies are finding that employees are more willing to stay, because they feel a greater sense of belonging from the company. Of course there will always be some level of turnover, regardless of how hard a company tries to keep employees. However, extrusion training has become a low-cost means of companies minimizing turnover, while building commitment and fostering a greater sense of camaraderie on the production floor.
