I need a little guidance from an unbiased source on my guitar playing. When I first started playing I stuck to the classic rock and roll songs and then I started attempting different genres to see if that would help my overall style and technique. I do not think I need a full time instructor but just a trained ear to be my electric guitar tutor. I feel like my guitar riffs seem to travel over into my jazz playing and I would really like them to stay different. How do I retrain myself or am I just imagining that since I am use to the sounds?
